Warranty
Sealy United Kingdom offers a limited warranty against defects in workmanship or materials.
I Warranty Period
(a) This limited warranty is for a period of time, as set forth in the warranty schedule, which commences
from the date of delivery to the original purchaser. In the event that service resulting from any warranted
defect is required, Sealy will repair or replace (at Sealy's option) mattress (es) or base(s) under the terms
of the warranty schedule. See Appendix 1.
II Circumstances voiding Warranty and other Warranty Limitations
(a) Sealy reserves the right to refuse service or replacement and the limited warranty shall not apply
when the product is found, on inspection to be in an unsanitary condition, or when failure is due to abuse,
misuse, damage through accident or neglect, or any causes other than defective workmanship or material. The use
of a quality mattress protector is recommended.
(b) Limited warranty extends only to Sealy mattresses and Sealy bases purchased and used in sets. For purposes
of the preceding sentence, a replacement through Sealy's limited warranty of either a mattress or base shall
be considered part of the set.
(c) The warranty does not cover damage during installation by the user.
(d) Use of a non-approved base voids the warranty on the mattress after 12-months of use.
(e) The warranty does not cover damage to the legs, screw thread and stud thread due to lack of tightening during
assembly or regular maintenance.
(f) The mattress must be turned or rotated in accordance with the care instructions. Failure to adhere to these
instructions will void the limited warranty.
(g) Buyers must provide proof of purchase to validate this limited warranty.
(h) This limited warranty shall not extend to a purchaser or user who has purchased or otherwise acquired the product(s)
from the original purchaser.
(i)Sealy makes no other warranty beyond what is contained in this document.
III Limitations on implied Warranties and Damages
(a) Sealy shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use of this product or the breach
of this or any other expressed or implied warranty.
(b) Sealy shall not be liable for any transportation and carriage costs, customs and documentation costs on any replacement
article outside the UK mainland. All incidental costs resulting from a warranty claim must be borne by the purchaser.
IV Substitution of Materials
(a) Identical materials may not be available at the time of service. Sealy reserves the right to substitute materials of
comparable quality at the time of service or, at Sealy's option, provide a refund.
(b) Sealy does not warrant that a replacement mattress or base will be in the same cloth as the original piece nor that the
replacement piece will continue to be part of a matching set.
V Inspection and Authorisation prior to return
Sealy shall respond to all warranty inquiries and may authorise an inspection to determine warranty coverage.
Written authorisation and instructions from Sealy or an authorised Sealy representative are required before return of any product.
Note: This warranty gives you specific legal rights.

Standard Double (4ft 6in or 135cm)
Your Sealy base is delivered in two halves.
Standard Double base (castors)
Fittings are located in the plastic bags attached to the underside of each base and include; a) 4 castors/glides b) 2 headboard bolts
Position the two base halves where they are to be used and bring them together. Ensure that the black unit connectors are facing each other.
Standing to the side of the bed, lift the right hand base (approx. 100mm), and holding the left hand one in position,
squeeze the bases together whilst lowering the right hand one, ensuring that the unit connectors locate.
Repeat at the other side of the base.
At the headboard end of the base, remove each Pierce Here' label in turn, carefully piercing the fabric with a sharp implement
(e.g. bradawl), where the headboard socket can be felt. Be careful not to cause injury or damage during this operation.

FILLING SETTLEMENT IS NORMAL
Sealy Village Hotel beds have generous layers of luxurious upholstery cushioning the spring unit for added convenience and comfort. The areas where body weight is concentrated will compress as the materials bed themselves down. This can give rise to body impressions which are perfectly normal. These are non turn mattresses, but they do require rotating from end to end as this will minimise natural settlement. Remember to do this at least twice a month during the first year of use, then once a month, thereafter.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE NON-SLEEPING SIDE BE USED AS A SLEEP SURFACE.
DO: ROTATE THE MATTRESS FREQUENTLY This will help compress the upholstery evenly and thus minimise natural settlement.
DO: USE A MATTRESS PROTECTOR Body moisture can cause the dyes used in mattress covering fabric to bleed and mark bed linen. A quality mattress protector will prevent this and other problems of mattress soiling.
DO: AIR THE MATTRESS REGULARLY This is particularly important when the packaging is first removed as it will help any newness aroma dissipate.
DONT: ROLL OR BEND THE MATTRESS The spring interior is encased in a steel frame that will distort if bent and could remain so permanently.
DONT: BOUNCE OR SIT REPEATEDLY IN THE SAME AREA This can reduce the lifespan of the mattress and place undue strain on the spring unit.
DONT: USE DETERGENT OR CHEMICAL CLEANERS Many of these products will rot both stitching and fabric. In the event of soiling, the mattress may be lightly sponged with a mild solution of soap and water.
